How to Clean and Maintain Your Hearing Aids
Proper care extends the life and performance of your OTC hearing aids. Follow these tips for Cearvol and Linner models.
Daily Care Routine
After each use, gently wipe your hearing aids with a soft, dry cloth to remove earwax, moisture, and oils. For BTE models (Cearvol Diamond X1 and Wave Lite), wipe the receiver wire and ear dome separately. For CIC/ITC models (Linner Saturn, Cearvol Nano), use the included wax pick or brush to clear the speaker opening. Always store hearing aids in their charging case when not in use.
Weekly Deep Clean
Once a week, remove the ear tips and clean them with mild soap and warm water. Let them air dry completely before reattaching. Use the included cleaning brush to gently clear any debris from the microphone ports and speaker openings. Never use sharp objects that could damage the speaker mesh.
Battery & Charging Tips
- Charge nightly: Place hearing aids in their charging case every night. All Cearvol and Linner models use USB-C rechargeable cases.
- Avoid extreme temperatures: Do not leave charging cases in direct sunlight or in very cold environments.
- Clean contacts: Wipe the charging pins on both the hearing aids and the case monthly with a dry cloth.
- Cearvol Nano UV: The Nano case includes UV sterilization. Close the lid to activate during charging.
Storage Best Practices
Always store hearing aids in their case when not wearing them. Keep them away from pets, children, moisture, and heat. If you perspire heavily during exercise, remove hearing aids beforehand. For travel, keep the case in your carry-on luggage -- not checked bags where temperature extremes may occur.
When to Replace Ear Tips
Replace silicone ear tips every 2-3 months, or sooner if they become discolored, stiff, or no longer seal comfortably. A poor seal reduces sound quality and comfort. Both Cearvol and Linner include multiple ear tip sizes; replacement tips are available on their official stores.
